WVASN SCHOOL NURSE of the YEAR 2024

Wendy Barker, MEd MA, BSN, RN, NCSN, CDCES carries a lot of credentials behind her name because she’s “innovative and strives to provide quality health services for student, staff, and the school community and maintains a safe environment for all.” Wendy has been a school nurse in various roles for the past 32 years of her career in nursing. Mentorship and advancing school nursing practice across WV are focal points in her career.

In her time outside of the school, Wendy is mother to a son and two daughters. She likes to travel with her family and friends.
